Hagyard Equine Medical Institute Named Breeders’ Cup Partner

The Breeders’ Cup announced June 23 an agreement with Hagyard Equine Medical Institute which makes Hagyard an official partner of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships in the Equine First Response Unit category.
The 2015 Breeders’ Cup, consisting of 13 grade one races and $26 million in purses and awards, will be held for the first time at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky, on Oct. 30-31.
As part of the agreement, Lexington-based Hagyard, a top veterinary facility overseeing state-of-the-art equine treatments and surgeries, will provide and administer the equine trauma unit ambulance with expert personnel on-site during Breeders’ Cup morning workouts from Oct. 26–31, and will provide the ambulance and equine trauma unit during the prelude to the championships on Oct. 29 and on both Breeders’ Cup World Championship days. Hagyard will also administer all blood sampling and temperature readings of all international participants.
In addition, Hagyard will be the name-in-title of the shuttle service which will transport the horsemen and international guests from the Breeders’ Cup stable area on Rice Road to the front side racetrack locations of the Keeneland Racing Office and to the Breeders’ Cup Trackside Breakfast Marquee
