Convicted SAU Horse Thief Approved for Parole

Jaci Jackson, the former Southern Arkansas University (SAU) student convicted of stealing several horses belonging to the school’s rodeo team members, has been approved for parole.
In 2011, five Quarter Horses were taken from the Mulerider Stables on SAU’s Magnolia, Arkansas, campus. Four of the missing horses were recovered and the remains of the fifth horse were found in McCurtain County, Oklahoma.
Arkansas State Police later arrested Jackson and charged her with multiple counts of theft of property. She was later convicted of two counts of criminal conspiracy in connection with the horse thefts and sentenced to serve two consecutive 5-year terms in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
On Aug. 13, Jackson was approved for release on parole, a written statement from the Arkansas Parole Board said
