New Vocations has announced that more than $110,000 was pledged by Thoroughbred owners and trainers during their annual Breeders’ Cup Pledge fundraiser.
Leading the extensive list of supporters was American Pharoah’s connections of Zayat Stables and Bob Baffert, as well as Stopchargingmaria’s team of Town and Country Racing and trainer Todd Pletcher. Owners and trainers who participated in the fundraising effort pledged a percentage of their earnings to support New Vocations’ mission to rehabilitate, retrain, and rehome retired racehorses. This was the sixth consecutive year for the pledge and more than $380,000 has been raised to date.
“We are more than happy to support such a worthy cause as providing proper aftercare to our horses is very important to our team” said Shannon Potter, Town and Country’s racing manager
