NCSU to Host Veterinarian, Horse Owner Symposiums
The North Carolina State University (NCSU) College of Veterinary Medicine will be hosting two seminars—one for horse owners and one for veterinarians, veterinary technicians, veterinary students, and farriers—on Feb. 8-9. All proceeds will support the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine Equine Health Program and the Student Chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners at NCSU.
The veterinary program will take place over the course of both days. Seven hours of continuing education credits will be available to attendees each day. Additionally, attendees are invited to stay for the horse owner program. Lecture topics will include hoof care, orthopedics, diagnostic imaging, and more. A full program and speaker listing is available on the program’s website.
The $125 registration fee for the veterinary program includes:
- Access to leading experts in the field, lectures, round-table discussions, tours, and vendors;
- Breakfast and lunch both days; and
- An equine Health Symposium tee-shirt (not guaranteed for registrations after Jan. 13).
The horse owner program will take place on Feb. 9 and will feature NCSU veterinarians and guest speakers presenting on topics that directly affect horses’ care and management. Veterinary school tours will also be available. Presentation topics will include nutrition, biosecurity, infectious diseases, and preventative care, among others. A full program and speaker listing is available on the program’s website
