Bernalillo County, N.M., law enforcement authorities are seeking a man who allegedly shot another man over the price of a horse.

Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Aaron Williamson said deputies responded to a rural location where horses are boarded on Jan. 25; at the scene, deputies discovered a man with a single, small gage rifle wound to his abdomen.

“The victim and the offender were reported (to be) arguing about the price of a horse at the time of the incident,” Williamson said.

The victim was taken to the University of New Mexico Hospital for treatment where he is in stable condition, Williamson said
