Ohio law enforcement authorities are investigating the theft of three horses from the Fulton County Fairgrounds last month.

Fulton County Sheriff Roy Miller said that the horses’ owners reported the animals missing when they arrived at the Fairgrounds stables at about 7 a.m. on Dec. 29, 2012.

"The owners were at the fairgrounds doing chores on Dec. 28 between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. and there horses were there," Miller said. "Our deputy made his rounds about 7 p.m. but did not go into the barn, so we think (the theft) happened between 6:30 p.m. and 11 p.m."

Miller said two of the horses are bay Standardbreds and the third is a black Standardbred. All three of the horses have identification tattoos, he said, and the animals have been valued at $5,000 each. All were being boarded at the fairgrounds barn at the time of the incident, he said
