Equine veterinarians will learn to communicate more effectively with clients, coworkers, and others they encounter in the profession during the keynote presentation at the American Association of Equine Practitioners’ (AAEP) 58^th Annual Convention, taking place in December.

Speaker Connie Dieken, a business communications consultant and former television anchorwoman, will train equine veterinarians to convey their messages in a way that will relate to clients and coworkers. Whether explaining a procedure to a client or collaborating with a colleague to make a diagnosis, equine veterinarians are challenged to communicate important and often complex information in their daily work environments.

Dieken will identify three critical steps for achieving communication:

• Connecting with the client;
• Conveying a message; and
• Convincing the client to trust the information.
