Wisconsin Horse Shootings Probed

Law enforcement authorities in Wisconsin are seeking those responsible for shooting two horses grazing in a pasture in Brown County.
Brown County Sheriff’s Department Spokesman Lt. Scott Semb said that on June 23 the horses’ owner found the animals wounded in their pasture; a 2-year-old Quarter Horse had sustained nine gunshot wounds to the shoulder, while a second Quarter Horse had sustained a gunshot wound to its leg.
"A veterinarian called to the scene by the owner estimated that the wounds were at least two days old," Semb said.
Both horses received veterinary treatment and are expected to survive, and the incident remains under investigation, Semb said
