A Pennsylvania farm operator is facing multiple charges in connection with the alleged maltreatment of animals on her York County farm.

York County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Executive Director Melissa Smith said that in May, the agency removed 26 animals from Happy Ending Farms Inc. a breeding and rescue operation in Codorus Township after receiving complaints about the animals’ condition.

The herd, which included Thoroughbreds, a Clydesdale, a Haflinger, and Paints ranging in age from 3 months to mid-teens, were in need of varying degrees of veterinary care, said Smith. Several other horses remain on the property. The SPCA is monitoring those animals’ care, according to Smith.

Farm operator Frances R. Langrall voluntarily relinquished the animals to the York County SPCA, Smith said
