Law enforcement authorities in Marshall County, Ind., are seeking whoever is responsible for the shooting death of a foal late last month.

Marshall County Sheriff’s Department Detective Neal Wallace said that on Dec. 29, the animal’s owners contacted the sheriff’s office after finding the foal dead in its pasture on their Plymouth farm. The horse had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the lungs, Wallace said.

An investigation into the incident is under way, Wallace said.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department at 574/936-3187
