The Kentucky Equine Humane Center, a safe refuge for at-risk horses of all breeds and disciplines, has put out an urgent call for hay donations.

Currently feeding 50 horses, the group will take donations of any type of hay appropriate for equine consumption. Round or square bales will be accepted. The farm is located in Nicholasville, just south of Lexington.

Those interested in donating either hay or money can contact Kentucky Equine Humane Center Executive Director Lori Neagle at 859/881-5849 or via e-mail at lneagle@kyehc.org. All donations are tax deductible.

The Kentucky Equine Humane Center, founded in April 2007, has a mission to provide humane treatment and shelter to unwanted horses, educate the public and raise awareness about the importance of equine ownership, and serve as a model for the equine industry
