The reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for the death of a Quarter Horse in South Carolina has grown to $3,000, said Monte Beasley, owner of Circle B Farm in Anderson County.
The horse was discovered dead in its pasture with a single small wound to its head in August. A necropsy revealed that a captive-bolt pistol or similar instrument was used to kill the animal.
The Anderson County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident, but there are no leads in the case, Beasley said.
Anyone with information about the incident should call the Anderson County Sheriff’s Department, 864/260-4400 or Crime Stoppers at 800/442-2746. Crime Stoppers calls are confidential
