The American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) will present a Healthy Horses Workshop, an educational day designed just for horse owners, in Austin, Texas, later this summer. This full-day program will feature seminars of practical, cutting-edge information led by AAEP-member veterinarians.


The event will take place on Saturday, July 26, 2008, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.



The morning will feature trainer and author Monty Roberts speaking about his past experiences and horsemanship skills.


Scheduled topics include:



  • The Unwanted Horse–Tom Lenz, DVM, MS
  • Strangles–Amanda House, DVM, Dipl. ACVIM
  • Crooked Legs, Belly Buttons, and Common Surgical Issues–Justin Harper, DVM
  • Being Around Horses–Monty Roberts
  • Rhodococcus equi Pneumonia in Foals–Robert Franklin, DVM, Dipl. ACVIM


Pre-registration for this event is $70. The deadline for the pre-registration rate is July 3. Registration on-site is $90. Seating is limited, so register early.
