Rescuers got two for the price of one in the rescue of a pair of horses trapped in a deep, narrow ditch in Miami-Dade County in Florida. A report on wtvynews4.com said when rescuers were called to extricate a horse from a deep, narrow ditch in the southwest part of the county on Friday, Aug. 22, they didn’t realize there was a second horse trapped in the same ditch.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue’s Tactical Rescue Team used harness and a nearby resident’s tractor with a front-end loader to lift each horse from the ditch that was up to eight feet deep in some spots. One horse rescued on Friday ws taken to a local veterinary hospital and was reported by wtvynews4.com to be in stable condition.
“It wasn’t until the end of the first rescue that a second horse was found trapped in the same ditch about 50 feet from the first one,” noted the report
