Reports from neighbors had Tuscarawas County, Ohio, Humane Officer Dawn Smitley investigating a property in Perry Township on Friday, June 29. According to a report  on www.Times-Reporter.com by Linda Davis Smith , one horse died after intensive veterinary care at the property, and another was seized along with six dogs. None of the animals had food or water, according to the report.

The property where the animals were found was located near West Chester, Ohio. Smitley said in the article that the horse’s death was a “clear-cut case of neglect. This horse starved.”
