A sheriff’s deputy said he’s walking again six weeks after breaking his pelvis during a re-enactment of a War of 1812 battle that was being filmed for the History Channel.


Howard County sheriff’s deputy Richard Ferguson, 47, said he lost control of his horse and was injured after bouncing hard several times on his saddle.


“All of this for 10 seconds on the History Channel,” he joked.


Ferguson was part of the re-enactment in late August in Friendship, a small community in southeast Indiana, about 60 miles northeast of Louisville, Ky
