U.K. Horse Killed by Electrical Cable

BBC News reports a horse died after touching a live electricity cable in the eastern part of the United Kingdom. The horse’s owner was leading the 12-year-old mare through a field before she reared and fell on the cable that was down behind one of the farm buildings.
Nikola Thompson of the livery yard in Glan Conwy, Conwy, told the BBC she had called Scottish Power about electrical problems at the farm before the mare died. The company is investigating the incident, which left two customers in the area without power for a short period.
“The horse pushed its owner out of the way, reared up and then landed on the cable,” Thompson said.
Reportedly, the cable carried between 0-240 volts
