A Lexington, Ky., producer and horse owner has brought national attention to Kentucky with her equine documentary. On Jan. 26, the PBS National Educational Television Association (NETA) announced that Christine Amerman’s “Life with Passion: Raising Egyptian Arabian Horses” was chosen to receive its 2007 Best Biography Documentary Award.

“Life with Passion” is a beautifully told story intertwining the rich heritage of Egyptian Arabian horses with the lives of the two women who raise them on world-famous farm Arabians LTD., in Waco, Texas. Amerman directed and produced the 30-minute documentary for air on Central Texas PBS affiliate KWBU while she was a master’s student at Baylor University. Since its broadcast, it has garnered much attention, including winning a Telly last fall in the highly competitive documentary category. The Telly Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions
