Steve Reed, DVM, Dipl. ACVIM, Bud and Marilyn Jenne Professor in Equine Clinical Sciences and Research, has retired from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) after 25 years of service. He has joined Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Ky.
“This is really a tremendous opportunity for me and for Ohio State”, said Steve. “We’ve wanted to have stronger collaborations with Rood and Riddle and this is a chance to work together and put a program in place.”
Many of the veterinarians currently on staff at Rood and Riddle graduated and trained at Ohio State. “This is a great opportunity for me personally, too”, said Steve. “To have the chance to work with other practitioners, some of whom I’ve known for 30 years, was really attractive to me.
“I want to publicly thank everyone here at CVM who have been so supportive as I’ve thought through this move. This is a chance for me to do something I’ve never done before: work in private practice. My love and dedication to this college and this university will never change, but I want to give this opportunity a shot, rather than risk having regrets about never trying private practice
