The symposium will emphasize how farm workers can protect themselves when working on the farm and using farm equipment. The Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s Farm and Home Safety Program will conduct the symposium. The program’s new unofficial mascot, “Willie B.,” will make his debut at the symposium. The KDA also will display lawn mowers and all-terrain vehicles.
During the Dixie Fire School, Dale Dobson, the KDA’s Farm and Home Safety Program administrator, will conduct classes on farm rescues Mar. 10 and 11. The classes will cover common types of farm accidents, farm equipment mechanics, and other topics.
