Horse Euthanatized after Keeneland Fall
Racey Dreamer, representing the year’s leading jockey, trainer and owner in steeplechase racing, was euthanatized Friday, as Mixed Up went on to win the $150,000 Royal Chase at Keeneland.

Racey Dreamer, representing the year’s leading jockey, trainer and owner in steeplechase racing, was euthanatized Friday, as Mixed Up went on to win the $150,000 Royal Chase at Keeneland.
Racey Dreamer, an 8-year-old son of A.P. Indy, stumbled while trying to clear the 10th fence during the 2½-mile turf race. Track officials said he sustained a leg fracture.
The horse was making his first appearance in a jump race since 2004.
Racey Dreamer’s trainer, Doug Fout, won the Royal Chase in 2004 and 2005 with Hirapour. Jockey Matthew McCarron rode Hirapour in 2005
