The 23rd annual American College of  Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) Forum shattered attendance records with a total of 3,251 attendees in Baltimore, Md., June 1 – 4.


Baltimore’s attendance surpassed the previous record of 3,072 set in Seattle in 2000.


Highlights of the Forum included the Keynote Address from Curt I. Civin, MD, entitled “Stem Cell Research: Hope and Hype,” as well as the presentation and discussion of the Small Animal Consensus Statement draft  on “Lyme Disease” and the Large Animal Consensus Statement draft on “Anthelmintic Resistant Nematodes in Small Ruminants.” The drafts were presented for additional input by the audience and will be published in the January/February 2006 edition of the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine
