Three new cases of West Nile virus (WNV) were reported by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture as of Aug. 29.


In Fayette County a 2-year-old Hanovarian filly had onset of symptoms on Sept. 15. She had not been vaccinated, and she is still living. In Fleming County an unvaccinated 5-year-old Tennessee Walking Horse mare was euthanatized after onset of symptoms Aug. 29. In Lincoln County an unvaccinated 18-month-old Tennessee Walking horse colt was still alive after onset of clinical signs on Sept. 6.
