Officials of Breeders’ Cup Limited and the National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) announced that the 2005 Breeders’ Cup Charity Celebration will be held on the evening of Friday, Oct. 28, at historic Roseland Ballroom in New York, with proceeds benefiting the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund aiding hurricane victims, the Fund for Public Health in New York, and the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation.
Multiple Grammy Award winning artists KC and the Sunshine Band will provide the musical entertainment.
The Breeders’ Cup Charity Celebration will be an exciting prelude to the 22nd Breeders’ Cup World Thoroughbred Championships, which will be held the Saturday, Oct. 29, at Belmont Park in Elmont, N.Y.
“We believe it is vital for the Thoroughbred racing community to show its support for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, and contributions from the Breeders’ Cup Charity Gala is a great way for racing to take a leadership position in this national endeavor,” said D.G.
