According to ABC news affiliate KIFI Local News 8 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, four horses were shot Friday (Oct. 14) in Fremont County, Idaho, after wandering onto a neighboring property. Three of the horses died instantly, and the fourth had to be euthanatized.
The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office confirmed they had identified a suspect in the shootings. As of Oct. 18, the district prosecutor had not filed any charges in the case.
Virgil Barg, owner of the four horses, told KIFI, “I definitely think he has to be accountable. And change his attitude on life.”
Barg said that the farm gate had somehow been left open, allowing the horses access to the neighbor’s property. Neighbors told the news station that the horses were tame and even came up to the suspect’s truck before the shootings took place
