AAEP Hosts Wet Labs
The American Association of Equine Practitioners held its annual Equine Veterinary Wet Labs on Sept. 6-7. The labs, held for the first time at the Kentucky Horse Park, focused on dentistry, musculoskeletal ultrasound, lameness, and reproduction.
The American Association of Equine Practitioners held its annual Equine Veterinary Wet Labs on Sept. 6-7. The labs, held for the first time at the Kentucky Horse Park, focused on dentistry, musculoskeletal ultrasound, lameness, and reproduction.
“The wet labs provided hands-on experience that could not be obtained through textbooks,” said Kathleen Paasch, DVM, one of the 170 veterinarians in attendance.
Veterinary students from across the country were also on hand to help out. “They had excellent attitudes and were very willing to help. It was a great opportunity for them to learn a lot, too,” said Katie Garrett, DVM, who helped instruct the ultrasound lab.
“The small group environment inspired interaction between the participants and the instructors, making it easier to ask questions,” Garrett said
