The latest in cutting-edge equine health information will be delivered during the Western States Horse Expo, June 9 – 11, 2006, in Sacramento, Calif. Veterinarians representing the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) will discuss several health topics that are important to horse owners and others who are involved in the care of horses.
Created to educate and entertain horse enthusiasts and the professionals that serve them, the Western States Horse Expo is a three-day extravaganza serving the interests of all equestrians. Some of the health topics to be presented include equine West Nile virus prevention and awareness; the national animal ID system for horses; new developments in equine medicine and surgery; colic; common foal orthopedic disorders; navicular horses; traditional Chinese veterinary medicine; Proximal Suspensory Desmitis; and equine hock problems.
During the event, attendees also can visit the AAEP’s booth (#6408 in Building B next to the AAEP Lecture Hall) for additional horse-health information and giveaways. For more information about the scheduled speakers or the AAEP’s owner education program, contact Dana Kirkland, owner education coordinator, at dkirkland@aaep.org or 859/233-0147
