On July 16 (Sunday afternoon) it was reported that Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro remained in stable condition after another restful night, according to Chief of Surgery Dean Richardson, DVM, of the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center.

“His vital signs are good and his attitude remains positive,” said Richardson.
      
Barbaro is being treated for fractures in his right hind leg, which he received at the Preakness on May 20, as well as laminitis in his left hind foot.

“He is acceptably comfortable today, and his appetite remains excellent,” said Richardson.

Barbaro remains in the Intensive Care Unit of the George D. Widener Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center
