An August 18, 2006 fundraising event is planned to benefit two nonprofit adoption and rescue organizations, ReRun, Inc. and the Mid-Atlantic Horse Rescue (MAHR). The gala will be held at the Ocean Place Resort & Spa in Oceanport, N.J. Cocktails will be served on the oceanfront patio followed by a gourmet dinner.

Patricia Hogan, DVM, a prominent surgeon at the New Jersey Equine Clinic, will speak on “Saving Famous Racehorses” such as Smarty Jones and Afleet Alex. Hogan will also discuss her work with the less than famous ex-racehorses that will benefit from the fundraiser
