Partner-level sponsor of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF), Farnam Companies presented a check on Aug. 11 for $50,167.27 to USEF for the 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG) Show Jumping Team. Farnam is the official sponsor of the Farnam Platform/USEF Horse of the Year awards program, and it manufactures the official fly control products of the USEF, and the official feed of the USEF Pony Finals National Championships.
Farnam committed last spring to donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of its popular fly control products in a unique partnership with the USEF, to help send the U.S. show jumping team to the WEG, which takes place Aug. 20-Sept. 3. As an additional incentive to customers who purchase its products, Farnam held a sweepstakes in which the grand prize was a trip for two to the 2006 WEG in Aachen, Germany. The trip includes airfare, hotel accommodations for seven nights, daily WEG tickets, and $500 spending money. Other valuable prizes were also awarded.
Chris Jacobi, president of Farnam’s Horse Division, said, “The World Equestrian Games spark a sense of patriotism and pride in horse aficionados throughout the world. This is a simple way for us to foster a sense of ownership and support of the U.S. Team among our customers.” Customers participated in the promotion by purchasing Farnam fly control products at participating tack and feed shops or through other equine product retailers throughout the country between March 1-July 31.
John Long, CEO of the United States Equestrian Federation, added, “Farnam is an outstanding corporate citizen for equestrian sport in this country. They are setting an example for other commercial interests in horse sport to give back to the sport which fuels their businesses. It is very expensive to send teams from all seven disciplines to the World Equestrian Games, and we are very proud to have Farnam partnering with us to support Team USA
