Kentucky’s 10th WNV Case
The 10th West Nile virus (WNV) case of 2006 in Kentucky was confirmed today (Sept. 13), said Rusty Ford, Equine Programs Manager, of the Kentucky State Veterinarian’s office. There were only nine total WNV cases in Kentucky last year.

The 10th West Nile virus (WNV) case of 2006 in Kentucky was confirmed today (Sept. 13), said Rusty Ford, Equine Programs Manager, of the Kentucky State Veterinarian’s office. There were only nine total WNV cases in Kentucky last year.
The latest case is a 2-year-old Tennessee walking horse colt in Hickman County that began showing clinical signs on Sept. 9. He was still alive as of Sept.13. He had not been vaccinated.
