Horse owners will have the chance to saddle up alongside Robert M. Miller DVM, to experience the Alisal Guest Ranch and Resort’s “Natural Horsemanship” symposium offered Nov. 17-20, 2002. The event is designed to introduce equine enthusiasts to the art of equine behavior in the unique atmosphere of an equestrian resort.
Miller, a world-renowned lecturer, author, and expert on horse behavior, will kick off the symposium with an informal Sunday evening fireside talk. This will be followed by informative and entertaining presentations on horse psychology, behavior-shaping methods, and the scientific principles underlying the surge of “natural horsemanship” during a four-day program.
Miller will present the four-part symposium beginning with the topic “Revolution in Horsemanship,” which focuses on worldwide acceptance of popular horse training methods and “Understanding the Horses Mind,” which covers the ten distinctive characteristics of horse behavior. The symposium will be brought to a close with “Five Fast Methods of Shaping Horse Behavior,” and a final session entitled “Questions/Answers/Problem Solving.”
“By simultaneously integrating the Alisal’s ideal equestrian setting with my one-on-one daily interactive lectures using unstaged videos of actual situations to illustrate points, guests have a real opportunity to directly apply and practice horsemanship techniques during their stay,” says Miller
