If you own an iPhone, you can have the 2010 FEI Alltech World Equestrian Games at your fingertips.

An iPhone app (free until September 17, according to Apple’s iTunes store), called simply “WEG,” is a nice guide to the WEG’s eight equestrian disciplines, with descriptions of each plus links to each sport’s promotional WEG YouTube video (also watchable on the iPhone). So when your friend or significant other wonders what eventing is, you can show and tell. Tap “Events” for the discipline listings.

The WEG app also includes a link to the competition schedule on the 2010 WEG’s Web site. And you can keep track of the stream of promotional press releases and related event announcements by tapping the “Ceremonies” button
