Researchers at the University of Florida are conducting an equine industry survey to gauge interest for an additional, unique service that could be provided by local equine hospitals.

In addition, the survey seeks to gather information regarding the demographics most interested in this service. Survey data will ultimately be coupled with a hospital fee analysis to determine the feasibility of offering this service in hopes of better accommodating client needs.

This project is conducted by senior veterinary student Nichole Hughes, as part of her research project for the Veterinary Business Management Certificate Program, with the supervision of UF faculty member Martha Mallicote, DVM, Dipl. ACVIM.

Anyone who currently owns, manages, or leases at least one horse and lives in the United States is encouraged to respond and share the survey with any group or individual that fits these qualifications. The survey will take about 7 to 10 minutes to complete
