Schaer to Discuss Vet-Doctor Collaboration at Free Lecture

Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 6:30 p.m., Tom Schaer, VMD, will present about the collaboration between veterinarians and human physicians as they strive to improve patient care. This presentation is part of the First Tuesday Lecture Series at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine’s New Bolton Center, at 382 West Street Road, Kennett Square.
Schaer runs the Richard S. Reynolds Jr. Comparative Orthopedic Research Laboratory at New Bolton Center. During his lecture he will illustrate the evolution of the lab from a biomechanics testing laboratory to a multidisciplinary research platform engaged in translational research.
The central role veterinarians continue to play in advancing welfare for society and animals has created many new opportunities for the profession. With these opportunities, new challenges require innovative approaches and explorations of nontraditional alliances to sustain growth and continuity.
New Bolton Center’s effort, spearheaded by Jacques Jenny, DrMedVet, and David Nunamaker, VMD, Dipl.
