Reward for Information About Montana Horse Tail Cutting Incidents

A Montana couple is offering a $500 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person/persons who cut hair from the couple's horse's tail earlier this month.
Beaverhead County resident Bob Riley said he and his wife, Connie, discovered someone had cut about four feet of hair from their Morgan horse's tail on Oct. 17. Hair from the tails and mane of three horses in Gallatin County also were cut, Riley said.
Riley speculated that the hair was taken to sell to craftspeople in the region who produce bridles and other items made of horsehair.
Both the Gallatin and Beaverhead Sheriff's Departments are investigating the incidents. However, if caught, what charges those responsible will receive are unclear
