The University of Louisville, Ky., College of Business has recently undertaken a $3.38 million expansion project that will benefit the school's equine business education program. The university is in the process of constructing an addition to its current business college that will house the Equine Industry Program (EIP).

The eco-friendly two-story, 7,245-square-foot wing will add faculty offices, conference rooms, study areas, and work space for two university programs, including the internationally renowned EIP.

The second floor of the addition will house the EIP, a one-of-a-kind program because it offers an Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accredited business degree with an equine major. AACSB is the gold standard for accrediting college business programs.

The EIP draws students from around the globe, and its graduates represent the next generation of business leaders in equine broadcasting, publishing, education, facilities, racing, breeding, association management, and other areas of the industry. The new space also is expected to include a new institute for equine enterprise management, expanding the equine program's applied research and service capabilities to the industry and creating new learning opportunities for students
