Owner of Abandoned Oregon Horses Sought

Law enforcement authorities in Oregon are seeking the owner of two apparently abandoned horses.
Clackamas County Sheriff's Deputy Clint Pierce said Portland General Electric utility company personnel discovered the chestnut mare and red chestnut gelding wandering utility company property near the Mount Hood National Forest on Nov. 24. Both are currently under rehabilitative care at a local horse rescue.
"They are malnourished and their feet have not been tended in quite a while," Pierce said. "From the way they were found and the location, I don't believe they got loose; I believe they were abandoned."
If caught, the horses' owner could face misdemeanor animal abandonment and animal neglect charges, Pierce said
