Albin was told that during Desert Storm, many military personnel were forced to give up their pets because they had no place to leave them when they were shipped out for duty. Steve Albin, who operates NetPets.org, had a good idea that has nearly taken over his life. Albin was told that during Desert Storm, many military personnel were forced to give up their pets because they had no place to leave them when they were shipped out for duty. So, he started a small program to help military personnel find free foster homes to care for animals. The program, NetPets Foster Project, has taken on a life of its own, and has left Albin little time for his own life.
Another group is handling placement of cats, so Albin decided to handle dogs and other pets, including horses. This is a free service, as is the actual fostering. Any veterinary or pharmacy expenses, special foods, and other extraordinary expenses of this type are the responsibility of the animal’s actual owner.
