Birdstone to Gainesway
Marylou Whitney’s 2004 Belmont Stakes (gr. I) winner Birdstone will stand at Graham Beck’s Gainesway Farm near Lexington. The son of Grindstone–Dear Birdie, by Storm Bird was retired the week of Nov. 1 after suffering a chip fracture in his left front ankle.
Birdstone, who also won the grade I Champagne and Travers Stakes, finished seventh in the Oct. 30 Breeders’ Cup Classic –
