Got an eye for agriculture? If so, you may be interested in a new statewide contest for photographers being sponsored by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, West Kentucky Corporation and Kentucky Farm Bureau.

“The goal of this contest is to showcase Kentucky’s rich rural heritage and to create a greater awareness and appreciation of our state’s agriculture industry,” said Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Billy Ray Smith. “Photos submitted in the competition may be featured in advertising promoting Kentucky agriculture.”

Photographs may be of haystacks, cornfields, barns, tobacco, farm equipment or any other scenes depicting agriculture or agri-tourism. The contest is open to both amateur and professional photographers. All subject matter must be identified by address or by map location.

Photos may be submitted in sizes ranging from 3 x 5-inches to 8 x 10-inches. There is no limit to the number of pictures an individual photographer may enter, and there is no entry fee.

Over $1,200 in prize monies will be awarded in the contest: $1,000 for first place; $200 for second; and $50 for third.
