Pamela Wilkins, DVM, MS, PhD, Dipl. ACVIM, ACVECC, an equine critical care specialist at the University of Illinois Veterinary Teaching Hospital, recently received professional recognition at the international level.

Wilkins, section head of equine medicine and surgery and a professor of veterinary clinical medicine, was named the first recipient of the inaugural Intervet/Schering-Plough International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Equine Educator Award. This award was created to honor those who have made great contributions to the equine program at the International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Symposium
