The Humane Society of the United States is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for killing four horses in Lake County, Ore.

Between Sept. 20 and 21, four competition Quarter Horses were found dead at the 18000 block of Lake Ridge Road in Lakeview due to poisoning, local news reports. The substance has not been positively identified.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is investigating. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Deputy Sheriff Daniel Tague at 541/947-6027.

Also assisting with the case are the Oregon State Police, Oregon Department of Agriculture, and Lakeview Animal Hospital
