A $1,000 reward is being offered for information about who shot and killed a 6-year-old Palomino gelding named Firecracker near Fawn Grove, Penn., just across the Maryland state line, according to an article on inyork.com.

According to the article the shooting probably took place the evening of Nov. 21 or early the morning of Nov. 22. A neighbor saw the horse run through the field and hit a tree. The immediate cause of death was not known, then it was discovered the horse had been shot in the eye. He died shortly after the owner reached him on Nov. 22.
