Standardbred rescue organizations will be the beneficiary of a new charitable effort, "Halters for Hope," which will provide extraordinary access to memorabilia from harness racing's biggest stars.
Worn halters with engraved nameplates, will be collected from the caretakers of sport's top racehorses, sires, and broodmares, and then offered for sale to collectors for $125 or $250. All of the proceeds collected will go to benefit horse rescue organizations that cater to saving Standardbreds.
Halters will be sold online on a first-come, first-served basis. Those seeking a halter submit an application to Halters For Hope and will be contacted when the chosen halter is available. Checks will be made payable directly to one of "Halters For Hope's" charitable rescue organizations. Upon receipt of the donation, Halters for Hope administrator Andy Cohen will ship the halters to purchasers.
Only one halter per horse is available at a given time, but a waiting list will be established to fulfill all orders. If your selected halter is not immediately available, you will be placed on the wait list and notified when it is on hand
