Tucker Johnson from Oldwick, NJ, beat a field of 36 competitors to win the four-in-hand driving competition CAI-4 Riesenbeck in Germany, June 29-July 2. It is the first time a US driver has won a four-in hand competition in Europe. Johnson was the sole US competitor beating seven other nations.
Tucker, 36, won the USET four-in-hand championship at Fairhill International, MD in 1999 as well as numerous other major competitions. Also that year, he was third ranked driver on the FEI World Four-in-Hand rankings. In 1998, Johnson was the top US driver at the World Equestrian Games in Italy, finishing in 5th place.
