The 73 horses living at Days End Farm Horse Rescue in Woodbine, Md., eagerly await visitors at the nonprofit rescue's 21st Annual Spring Carnival on June 19 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine.

Games, fun, horses, and a yard sale are part of this annual fund-raising event. Visitors will be treated to pony rides on Days End rescue horses, a petting zoo, face painting, stick horse races, carnival games, music, grilled lunch, and demonstrations on horseback. They will also be able to tour the 58-acre rescue facility.

Proceeds from this event feed the horses recovering at Days End Farm, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, volunteer-based humane organization. The organization has rescued and re-homed more than 1,400 horses from neglect and abuse since its founding in 1989.

Admission is $5 for families, $2 for adults, and $1 for children under 12. Children under 6 are free. For further information visit www.defhr.org, email info@defhr.org, or call 301/854-5037 or 410/442-1564
