Canada's inaugural Outdoor Equine Expo, scheduled for June 4-7, will target all horse owners in the Ontario area, from elite professionals to young riders. The all-breeds and all-discipline event will be held at the Arkell Research Station, part of the University of Guelph's network of research facilities across Ontario. Admission on June 4 is free, with doors opening at 2 p.m.

Over four days, attendees can browse indoor and outdoor exhibits and learn from interactive clinics hosted by professionals shipping in from as far afield as Alberta. The University of Guelph will have a major presence, with researchers discussing the latest news in horse health and performance. Young horse lovers will enjoy Equine Guelph's EquiMania!, an interactive, educational display.

"The University of Guelph is a leader in equine programs, both research and education," said Gayle Ecker, director of Equine Guelph, the equine outreach arm of the University of Guelph. "This is a unique opportunity to demonstrate how the latest equine research can benefit the horse owner—from the trainer of the fastest racehorse horse to the newest Pony Club member."

The Equine Guelph Gala will be held June 4 at 5 p.m. The evening will support continued program development of Equine Guelph and feature entertainment, wine, appetizers, and a fund-raising auction. Donations for the silent and live auctions are still being accepted
