ATHENS — Led by defending gold medalists Ludger Beerbaum and Otto Becker, Germany earned its third consecutive Olympic team show jumping title Tuesday.
Riders Beerbaum, Becker, Christian Ahlmann and Marco Kutscher clinched the gold after only three rides in the four-ride final. It was Beerbaum’s third consecutive team gold and the second for Becker.

The Americans, behind the flawless riding of Beezie Madden, took the silver medal when Sweden conceded after three rides in a jump-off. The two teams finished tied for second at the end of regulation
