Prince Ahmed Salman’s Thoroughbred Corporation has recently donated $50,000 to the Equine Orthopaedic Research Program at Colorado State University. Mr. Richard Mulhall, Racing Manager for the Thoroughbred Corporation said that the Prince feels strongly about contributing to research aimed at prevention of musculoskeletal injuries in the horse and plans to provide ongoing support to the CSU Equine Research Program.

Funding will be used in a research project focused on subchondral microfracture and its role in more severe joint injuries in the horse. The aim of this area of research is to develop a test that can diagnose early microdamage when it occurs and hopefully prevent the development of fractures or severe catastrophic injuries in the Thoroughbred racehorse.
